The worst thing about my book is: Farenheight 451

The worst thing about the book Farenheight 451 by Ray Bradbury is the fact that they burn the books. I don't think they should burn such great sources of knowledge even if it might threaten their power, their being the government or whoever runs America now. I think that books teach us so much about life and shows us the different perspectives of things. I believe learing and hearing about different perspectives is very important because it can help us figure out our own perspective on life and other matters and it also keeps us open to new ideas and opinions. Without different perspectives we tend to become stuck in our ideas and beliefs and very closed off to others opinions. This is why I really think burning the books even though being a key piece in my book is the worst part of my book. Burning books is almost like burning history and life which just isn't a good thing. Do you think burning books is the best part of the book? Do you think burning the books is a justified thing to do?

  1. I do not like how they burn the books but I would say that it is the best part of the book. If we didn't see the book burning then there would be no point to the story. I do agree that it is a terrible thing to do but I also think that it is the platform of the book. In the book it is well justified but in my brain I don't see why they would have to burn all the books. I mean, like you said books teach us a lot and are a big part of our life. I do not think that they should burn the books because they think that people could over power them. To me that just says the government isn't strong enough to begin with. I thought your post was GREAT. I loved the questions that you put at the bottom! What would you rate the book so far?
